Having said that, the “Who’s Gate City?” Indie Artist Concert will change the way we do music FOREVER!

We will be filling our roster of ten to fifteen artist durig the submission window; however, that number is subject to change as venue space; number of ticket sales; and artist participation play a huge role. Desmond V. (D E S I)
Born February 22nd, 1985 in Greensboro, North Carolina , D E S I understood that his ability to create music developed around the age of thirteen when it was then he enrolled into the Lincoln Middle School band. By the time he reached high school, D E S I found him-self writing and interpreting lyrics, which ultimately led D E S I to recording his first mixtape during the summer of 2012 entitled “Understand This Shit- Mixtape #1.” Looking to hit the ground running, he enlisted his sister- Liz Gregory- as his manager. It was through this particular partnership that D E S I realized he was headed towards becoming an industry natural. D E S I immediately began looking for opportunities that would allow him to showcase his talent while keeping the idea of artist development in the front of his mind. This aided in D E S I’s overall ability to reach people from all walks of life. On July 3rd, 2020, D E S I released MAJOR MOORE: Great Awake, which is by far one of his most “in-tune with self” pieces of work. A sound so interesting, D E S I’s team recognized the genre as a mix between hip-hop, R&B, and Pop. A few names that have influenced D E S I’s work are Brandy, Rich Homie Quan, and TriggaSoLowKey. Now that D E S I has decided that it was time for him to turn around and lend his hand towards other aspiring independent artist, he has taken on a new role- Artist Management. D E S I has made it his business to advance 7N1 Music & Production in 2021.
Elizabeth G. (Liz)
Liz Gregory was born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina and she always knew that she was going to be somebody. From a little girl, Liz knew that "show business," as well as the entertainment world, was something she HAD to become apart of. While growing up, her mother kept her in pageants; she registered her for dance classes; and kept her singing during whatever free time Liz could find. It was not until she moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 2011 that she recieved a taste of the music industry while riding along and watching her brother's (D E S I) music career develop. She found here self front row and that pushed her to wanting to learn the industry even more. In 2019, Liz decided to move back to Greensboro to start over and conquer everything she had previously set out to do. In just a short period of time, she started her all natural body essentials line called MaeScents upon her arrival. Realizing that she enjoyed the overall idea of being an entrepreneur, she noticed that she had, too, unofficially taken on the role of an artist manager as she contributed to the climb of D E S I's music career. She really took enjoyment in seeing artists execute opportunities. Noticing that they (her and her brother) were doing something different- yet in harmony- Liz and her brother brained stormed the idea of 7N1 Music & Production and they have not turned their back on its manifestation.
A&R/Talent Scout (Intern)
Marcus Jr. was born March 11th, 1994 and was raised in Greensboro, North Carolina where it was in the heart of the south side he was introduced to music through the interaction of his childhood best friend. Without knowing why, he watched his best friend frequent the recording studios within the area, which was ultimately Marcus’ reason behind taking his next step towards the music industry. For Marcus, the studio seemed to be his most sacred and peaceful place. At times, Marcus found himself creating hooks and writing verses with his best friend, which made his love for music grow even more. It wasn’t until Marcus realized that his true talent was in letting other independent artists know what was missing within their work and letting them know what needed to be added/subtracted before publication. Having said that, Marcus fell in love with establishing other music artists; being able to create great lyrics and metaphors; and solidifying punchlines and wordplay schemes as they pertain to mastering genres of music.
Today, you can find Marcus interning at 7N1 Music & Production as an A&R/Talent Scout and plans to expand the 7N1 brand by contributing his knowledge, as well as his well trained ear to 7N1 areas of focus. Marcus states that, “if you can get an independent artist to run with their verses, or get them to spit a hot bar back-to-back, then you know you have some good music.”
